Sunflower Power Sandwich
Want to teach your kids how to cook? This is a fun and easy recipe for them to try. They will love being able to create a flower sandwich all by themselves. If they prefer they can use their favorite deli meats instead of the ham.
Sunflower Power Sandwich – Your kids will love creating this flower sandwich all by themselves. – Refrigerated Biscuits ((16.3 oz can)), Egg ((lightly beaten)), Sunflower Seeds, Tomato ((large, sliced)), Lettuce Leaves, Deli Ham ((sliced thin)), American Cheese, Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.; Separate the dough into 8 biscuits, then separate each biscuit into 2 pieces.; Place the biscuit halves onto a cookie sheet and press them out to 3 1/2 inch circles.; Bake the biscuits for 12 minutes or until slightly crispy (light brown) on top.; While biscuits are still warm, use kitchen scissors to make short cuts around the edges of 8 of the biscuit halves to form a sunflower.; Use a pastry brush and lightly brush the center of the 8 cut biscuits with the egg.; Sprinkle 1/2 tsp of the sunflower seeds into the middle of each of the prepared biscuits.; Turn the other half of the biscuits upside down, so that the browned side is on the bottom.; Place a lettuce leaf, a slice of tomato, a slice of ham and a slice on cheese onto each of the upturned biscuit halves.; Top with the sunflower top.; – A great way to spend time with the kids while teaching them valuable skills!
